West Polk
West Polk FCA reaches the fast-growing, sports-rich corner of Polk County—includes Lakeland, Mulberry, Kathleen, Bradley Junction, and Bartow. With over ~31 public elementary schools, approximately ~10+ middle schools, and around ~11+ high schools. Higher education includes strong partners like Polk State College, Florida Southern College (NCAA DII), Warner University, and Webber International University.
North Ridge
North Ridge FCA serves the north-east corridor of Polk County—stretching from Davenport’s fastโgrowing suburbs to the heart of rural towns like Polk City. With roughly 10 elementary, 6 middle, and 5–6 high schools right within city limits—and colleges such as Polk State College (Winter Haven), Southeastern, Warner, and Florida Poly just minutes away—the region offers a rich setting for FCA’s Campus, Club, and League ministries.
South Ridge + Heartland
This FCA region serves a rich blend of city corridors and agricultural communities—spanning Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Frostproof, Fort Meade, Dundee, Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Placid, and Wauchula. Within Polk County alone, FCA connects with approximately 20 public elementary, 9 middle, and 7 high schools, and partners with postโsecondary institutions like Polk State College (Winter Haven and Lake Wales centers), Warner University, and Webber International University.

We ENGAGE relationally with others in a variety of environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives, and sharing the Gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are at on their spiritual journey.

After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to EQUIP them with Christ-centered training, tools, and ongoing support. We desire to Equip them with God’s Word so they can grow in Christ and help others know and grow in Him.
Empower
Once equipped, we EMPOWER coaches and athletes to help others experience salvation in Jesus, grow in their faith, and share Him with others. We desire to Engage, Equip, and Empower coaches and athletes to make disciples who do the same to others.

Another way you might describe it is « glory, » which can come in the form of recognition, renown, prestige, fame, or honor. There’s nothing inherently wrong in desiring good outcomes from your hard work. But if that’s your number one goal as a competitor, it will never be as fulfilling as you hope it might be. You’ll always be tempted to chase your own glory if you don’t understand your true identity and purpose.
Receiving glory in the form of honor, praise, admiration, or rewards will naturally happen throughout your athletic career. But it’s when you find yourself chasing glory that it becomes a problem. It puts you out of balance with God’s plan, which is to give Him all the glory for what He has done for you and through

For almost seven decades, FCA has had a vibrant ministry on school campuses in the United States, but the landscape of sports is changing. Athletes in record numbers now participate in non-traditional sports that compete outside of the traditional campus setting. Sports and athletic programs have grown to include coaches and athletes whose playing field involves not only lanes and courts, but dirt, hills and waves. To remain present, relevant and impactful for the next 70 years, FCA recently organized sport ministry into eight sport environments.
Out of season doesn't have to mean out of shape! ๐ช๐พ Our FCA Fit team are certified strength and conditioning trainers who can come and create unique workouts to help athletes stay healthy in and out of season! Message us today or email us at wcfl@fca.org for more info!

The FCA Emerging Leader Experience (ELE) is a chance for high school students to take a deeper dive into their leadership. These students meet together once a month to gain Biblical leadership training, tools, and resources. We have been so honored to have Eric Johnson, a survivor of the Twin Towers on 9/11, come and share how his experiences that day changed his faith and challenged his leadership and @christinstrawbridge, the CEO at Catapult Lakeland, focused on the topic of INFLUENCE!
